Los Alamitos Police, 7-Eleven and Operation Chill

Los Alamitos Police and 7-Eleven Celebrate a Generation of Good Will with Operation Chill

As a collaborative effort to reward the community’s youth for good behavior, the Los Alamitos Police Department and 7-Eleven Corporation are teaming to up to celebrate Operation Chill.  When kids are caught in the act of doing something good, Los Alamitos police officers will “ticket” the individual with a coupon good for a free small Slurpee.  Coupons can be redeemed at any participating 7-Eleven store through December 31, 2015.

Since the program’s inception in 1995, nearly 14 million Operation Chillcoupons have been distributed by law enforcement officers across the country.  During 2015, more than 1 million will be issued nationally, and Los Alamitos expects to issue nearly 500 during the remainder of the summer through the beginning of the new school year.  “As a police department that prides itself on its service to the community, we wanted to do something that positively rewards the good behavior of our youth.  This is a fantastic way to accomplish this and helps our officers connect with kids,” says Captain Bruce McAlpine.
