2011 Policing Through Partnership Award

Last week at the Los Alamitos Chamber of Commerce Police Appreciation Luncheon, the Los Alamitos Police Department was proud to announce our 2011 Policing Through Partnership recipient, Pattie Laird.

As a long time resident of the West Orange County area, Pattie Laird has always been committed to serving her community. Her long list of civic accomplishments is mirrored by her professional, recreational, and personal accomplishments. With more than 32 years of real estate experience and as co-owner of Keller Williams Realty in Los Alamitos, Pattie is considered an area specialist who is well versed in the needs of the community.

Leading an active lifestyle, Pattie enjoys challenging herself and others to achieve maximum results. Counted among the pioneers of beach volleyball, Pattie is an accomplished indoor player who earned a gold medal in national women’s play. She also received gold, silver, and bronze medals at the Huntsman World Senior Games. She has coached boys and girls volleyball for Los Alamitos High School, leading the boys to the school’s first-ever league championship, and the girls to three league championships and a first-ever CIF championship. As a graduate of Orange County Fire Authority Academy Class 15 in 1992, Pattie used her knowledge as a firefighter and emergency medical technician to serve the City of Los Alamitos at Fire Station 2.

Pattie and her husband, Wink, currently reside in Seal Beach and enjoy volunteering their time to help others. As active Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, both she and Wink assist the Police Department with training community members to prepare for and take care of themselves during a disaster. Pattie helped design the Neighbor 4 Neighbor disaster preparation program and was instrumental in establishing an enthusiastic community base in the Rossmoor Highlands. Neighbor 4 Neighbor provides a platform for community members from individual neighborhoods to meet so they can work together during disasters. Pattie’s commitment and passion for the community are reflected in this special program.
