Fake News Article

Earlier today, February 24, the Los Alamitos Police Department was made aware of an alleged news story in existence on the Internet which stated there was a “rabies outbreak” in Los Alamitos, CA.  The story is a hoax and not based on fact.   The police department has determined the source of the information comes from a website noted for disseminating fake news in a way designed to trick or mislead the reader.  The Department has no evidence of such a situation in the City of Los Alamitos and the events described in the parody are not substantiated.

Current Military Exercises at JFTB May Generate Increased Aricraft Noise on Thursday

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif.  – A visiting military unit is engaged in round-the-clock training exercises this week at Joint Forces Training Base and those exercises are expected to generate increased noise at Los Alamitos Army Airfield from participating V-22 Osprey aircraft during the afternoon hours on Thursday (Feb. 12).  For additional information, please click here.

Round-the-Clock Military Exercises at JFTB

A visiting military unit will be engaged in round-the-clock training exercises at Joint Forces Training Base beginning Monday, February 9th and concluding on Friday, February 13th.  These exercises will include the use of blank ammunition and may also include aircraft operating during non-standard airfield operating hours.

Former Los Alamitos Police Chief Robert Cabot Passes Away

The Los Alamitos Police Department is saddened to report that former Chief Robert Cabot, who served the City of Los Alamitos during the 1970's, passed away from natural causes on January 28th. He was 90.
