Intersection of Cerritos Av and Los Alamitos Blvd

At about 2:15PM the signal lights at Cerritos Av and Los Alamitos Bl stopped operating properly. City staff are on scene to evaluate situation, assist with safe movement of students after school, and provide traffic controls. 

If possible avoid area for the next hour.

Relief Part-Time Crossing Guards Needed

The City of Los Alamitos is accepting applications for relief, part-time Crossing Guards to assist with covering shift assignments when substitutes are needed.

Felony DUI Collision Investigation

Yesterday, Saturday, March 26, 2016, officers responded to the area of Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard at approximately 2:04 A.M. due to a possible collision in the area.  Upon arrival they found a collision had occurred on Katella Avenue, east of Los Alamitos Boulevard involving two individuals with potentially significant injuries who were transported to local trauma centers. Katella Avenue was closed for a period of time to investigate the scene. Based on the circumstances the regional Serious Traffic Accident Response (STAR) Team investigated the crash. On-duty patrol personnel detained a driver who was later arrested for Felony DUI Causing Injury and felony Hit and Run. 

The two injured parties were treated and it was found they were not suffering life threatening injuries.
