45 Pound Marijuana Seizure

Suspicious Vehicle Check Leads to Seizure of 45 Pounds of Marijuana

During the morning hours of Wednesday, March 17, an officer on routine patrol duty observed a suspicious late model red Ford Mustang parked in front of an apartment building located in the 3800 block of Howard Avenue. The vehicle, occupied by two adult males, had a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment, and a subsequent search of the vehicle, yielded approximately 45 pounds of marijuana hidden three large duffel bags. The vehicle’s occupants, identified as Jeffrey Palk (1-10-75) of Los Angeles and Scott Alexander (8-11-60) a resident of Oregon were arrested on charges of marijuana possession, possession for sales, and the transportation of marijuana. They were booked at Seal Beach Police Department Jail and held on $25,000 bail.

Police Detectives identified an apartment on Howard Avenue where the drugs were being delivered and served a search warrant on the location. An additional two pounds of marijuana and other paraphernalia were seized, and an arrest warrant is currently being sought for the apartment’s tenant, whose name is being withheld pending further investigation. The estimated street value of the seizure is $132,000.
